Great New Tip For Entertaining Dinner GuestsAuthor: Brenna Hartmann
Are you ever frustrated when you are trying to serve a nice meal to your guests and the food gets cold by the time everyone is served? For the past couple of years I have considered a warming drawer as an addition to my kitchen for this exact reason. In addition, I thought it would be a nice addition to the appliances we have. Each time I gave it any thought, I quickly shoot down the idea due to the lack of extra space the kitchen has. However, I found a more cost effective and space saving solution. One day I was browsing at new appliances in one of the local appliance stores in my area and noticed the warming drawers are the same as small ovens just with lower temperature settings. At that moment I had a great idea! I will use my oven as a warming drawer! I gave this a try a few times and now I am hooked. I heat my dinner plates up all the time now. Especially when I have guests due to the larger amount of preperation going on. Now when I have guests over, I set my oven to 180 or 200 degrees F and place the plates in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. That is the time when I am usually scrambling to get all the last details done for the entire meal. Just a tip I thought others might be able to use and appreciate.
